Gold Coast, Part 1

We bought the ticket long long time ago, May 2008. Six of us, me, Jasmine, hb and hb's friend, his wife and son. So poor Edmund is left at home.

We fly on 4/5/2009 evening and reach Gold Coast 5/5/2009 morning. So Jasmine will absent from school for two days, Thursday and Friday. It so coincidence that, Thursday will be her class first school outing, so she miss it.

Hb's friend, SY is doing all the research, booked the apartment and rented a car.

5/3/2009 (Thursday)

The apartment rented is just 5 minutes drive from the Coolangatta airport, Regent Court Holiday Apartment. Is a two bedroom apartment, cooking utensil is provided and we can cook our meal there. After settling down, we look for supermarket to get some grocery. We went to Cole supermarket at Pine Shopping Centre, recommended by the apartment lady saying that the price is cheaper.

We bought rice, vege, bacon, bread, egg, salt, sugar, cooking oil etc. Have our lunch there, after that, we drove around and stop by Currumbin Beach. The weather is very sunny, but the wind is chilling, nice. After this, we head back to the apartment and prepare our dinner, we have vege (chai sim), bacon + rice.

After dinner, SY want to look for Hard Rock Cafe, found it but cannot find parking space. Finally, he saw a car parked at road site, and he just park behind that car. We went down and walk around. After 2 hours, we found a traffic compound of AUD120!!! Will update about this later, wait until I found out from SY after he settle.

6/3/09 (Friday)

I wake up around 7am, make breakfast, we have bacon, bread, egg+mushroom. After breakfast, we off to Dreamworld.

About 1 hour drive, we reached Dreamworld. The kids is most excited. Took the train ride and stop to see Koala and Kangaroo. We went to took photo with Koala, damage = AUD27.95. Feed the Kangaroo, some of the kangaroo wouldn't even eat the food, right, overfeed by the tourist. Went to watch Tiger show, take kids ride - Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cup, Blue's Skidoo, The Backyardigans Mighty -Go-Around etc. I accompany Jasmine to ride the Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cup, after the ride, I felt so dizzy, felt like vomit :( old already, even kid ride also cannot tahan. So the rest of kid ride, Jasmine is accompany by her daddy.

We left Dreamworld about 4pm and back to Apartment to have our dinner. The kids are sleep early because they have skip their afternoon nap.
